Your MOON LORE :: PERSONAL + BUILDING + GARDENING + GROOMING for Weekend 2nd November 2018.

Can Friday’s be a Hump day?

This balsamic moon (4th quarter moon) has left me personally feeling stagnant and drained. Friday is an Earth DOG day, which is an Earth pillar and between the hours of 7-9pm tomorrow evening, of the eight characters in a Bazi Chart, all Earthly Branches are Dogs and the Heavenly stems are two water and two earth. Hmmmm, the energies might be a tad stagnant, adding to my current ‘Stuck’ stagnant feeling.

Moon moves into Virgo late on Friday afternoon (4:47pm AEST) which may add to the Barren, earthy yin feeling in the air. But even though the armchair may beckon this weekend, it’s a stellar weekend to tap into the Virgos’ ethos of hard work and get stuck into manual labour, in the earthy garden especially. The weekends lunar light will pass the nightlight baton to Libra late on Sunday evening, keeping the moon sign consistent for the weekend.

🌕 CHINESE ALMANAC

Tong Shu wise we move from Friday’s Establish day to Saturday’s Remove day followed by Sunday’s Full day. The last day of the working week is ideal for business - after 4:47pm especially so, and continue during the moons passage through Virgo. An Establish Day is also suitable for getting engaged or proposing marriage or for hanging with friends this Friday. While Saturday’s energetic vibration is more akin to banishing weeds. But forget planting this weekend as your efforts will result in tough, woody, useless plants. Read on for Sundays suggested pursuit.

🌿GARDENING

Get ready to graft in the garden. As the Virgo moon in a fourth quarter waning phase is tailor made for toil - of the ploughing, tilling and cultivating kind. When moon sign and phase in the barren sign, it’s a green light to launch operation - ‘destroy pesky weeds’. That’s if you’re not keen on propagating natures medicinal herbs like dandelions and chickweed. If they don’t appeal then uprooting them now, will retard the growth and your veggie patch should remain weed free for some time.

Northern Hemisphere folk if your apple and pear trees are still laden with fruit then the current phase is perfect picking for preventing any bruised areas or blemishes from spoiling and rotting your harvest. When you’re done harvesting get trimming, deadening and destroying. Should you need to remove an old tree that’s in danger of falling, then the weekend is an ideal time. This time of year under the influence of the 18th Solar Term - Frost Descends, and eating apples is encouraged for maintaining your lung health.

🏡 BUILDING

If you’re still finishing last weeks picket fence, then carry on as the lunar alignments concur. Next weekend’s new moon, will be perfect to add the finishing touches, with plants and decor.

Building and construction are favoured on Friday’s Establish day. But best to continue a project than start a new one. Wait till the new moon phase for a new reno project. for the

👥 PERSONAL

I suspect after a copious weekend of back breaking labour, Sunday calls for relaxation? Especially if you’re living in America and Canada, who gain an extra hour in their day, when the clocks fall back one hour. And there’s no better way to align with Virgo’s fastidious nature than to tap into her love of books and get lost in a library. (or your own reading Nook). It’s ‘Fountain Pen Day’ on Friday, but hey why not move it to Sunday and do some old fashioned pen to paper letter writing. Just the ticket for parking your butt after a spell of hard labour on Saturday. Check out our cover picture with books all perfectly placed and reversed . . . such a Virgo thing to do!

✂️ GROOMING

The moon has moved into a more established waning phase, making visits to the hairdressers less frequent as the hair grows less vigorously. Good news too for hair regrowth and colours - the Balsamic waning moon phase will retard pesky regrowth concealing your silver tresses for a little longer.

And if hair removal is on the agenda then waxing, shaving, plucking, sugaring…. whichever is your vise. Then Saturdays ‘Remove” day is auspicious aligned for an extended period of fuzz free body parts.

🐲 CHINESE ANIMALS

If you were born in a (Chinese) year ending in 2, then Saturday is your lucky Money day. And if you were born on years ending in a 3, then Sunday’s Rat Day is your lucky Money day.

Enjoy your weekend!
